Temporary implanted nitinol device (iTind) is a minimally invasive treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition that describes an enlarged prostate.

How does iTind work?

iTind is a minimally invasive procedure that involves the implantation of a small device into the prostatic urethra. Our providers use a small cystoscope to place the device inside your urethra without the need for incisions.

The device puts pressure on three points in your urethra and causes the tissue to slowly expand. Within 5-7 days, the urethral opening becomes wide enough to allow urine to pass through easily.

Side effects during iTind treatment are minimal. You may experience an increase in the frequency of urination or feel a burning sensation when you urinate. However, these symptoms are temporary and resolve after you complete treatment.

After your procedure, Our providers removes the device completely using a silicone catheter. You can go back to your usual activities right away without any limitations.
